Diving in Cozumel
Many people believe that Cozumel has the best Scuba diving in the Carribean. We agree :)
100'+ visibility, a wide variety of fishes and corals as well as the proximity of the dive sites makes Cozumel one of the worlds premier dive destinations.

In Cozumel we "drift dive" from boats. Many first time visitors are somewhat nervous about not having an anchor line to ascend and descend from, but once you've got a drift dive or two "under your weight belt", you'll realize that it's actually pretty fun. Drift diving lets you "go with the flow" of the current. The small groups of divers that are typical with Black Shark trips are carefully monitored by the Divemaster. When one member of a buddy pair is low on air, the Divemaster will signal for the pair to ascend to their 15 foot safety stop. Once the safety stop is completed, the boat will be waiting for them on the surface.

The reefs on Cozumel lend themselves to multi-level diving. Your first dive of the day will probably be a wall dive on the southern end of the Island. While many dives can exceed the sport diving limit of 130', there is plenty to see well above this depth, with some walls beginning in as little as 40' of water. After a surface interval at a nearby playa (beach), you'll be ready for your second dive of the day. The shallower sights are closer to town than the walls and are known for their varied fish life. Sencond dives will typically have a maximum depth (bottom) of 50-60 feet.
